CORTLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Lakeview sprung for 5 runs in the third and fourth innings to prevail, 7-3, over visiting Champion.
The Bulldogs were aided by their top five hitters – Kalyssa Werner (1-4), Kennedy Bartlett (3-4), Mackenzie Stowe (2-4, 2 RBIs), Isabella Isenberg (2-3, 3 RBIs) and Hallie Capan (1-2) – in Lakeview’s first game back up north since its trip to South Carolina.
Isenberg went the distance; tossing 7 innings of 6 hit balls while striking out six batters.
On Friday, Lakeview will welcome Girard.
Gabby Gradishar had a pair of doubles from her lead off spot for Champion. Taylor Rouan, Adalyn McIntosh, Josie Perhach and Maddison Sylvester all had singles.
Gradishar threw 6 innings, striking out 8 and allowing 6 earned runs.
On Monday, the Golden Flashes will take on Liberty.
