(WKBN) - The National Weather Service out of Cleveland confirmed Thursday that an EF0 tornado formed in Champion and Southington during severe storms Wednesday.
The agency was out surveying the damage on Thursday.
The tornado's wind speed peaked at 80 miles per hour with a path of 2.96 miles and 20 yards wide. NWS says the tornado formed about 7:01 p.m. and touched down near State Route 305, east of Hoffman Norton Road.

Trumbull County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) reports that large trees snapped off and multiple structures have moderate damage, especially in Champion. Still, despite the EMA reporting damage in the area, there were only 72 power outages reported in Trumbull County.
Across the county line in Portage County, the storms caused damage behind a home in Windham where a metal shed ripped apart and blew into a tree on Route 303. The residents that live there say they might have to call a tree service to get it down.
Also on state Route 303 in Windam, a large tree fell and blocked a driveway.
There were no funnel cloud sightings in Mahoning County, but 644 power outages were reported. In Columbiana County, 294 people were without power.
As of Thursday morning, power has mostly been restored, except for a few scattered outages.
Mercer County, Pennsylvania, was less affected by storms, with only a few scattered outages.
