CHAMPION TWP., Ohio- Two men from Cleveland are facing charges after police say they led officers in Trumbull County on two separate chases overnight.

What started as a Flock camera alert about a stolen U-Haul truck ended in the arrest of two Cleveland-area men. It all began around 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Liberty.

"The officers attempted to stop that U-Haul truck that was entered stolen, and the driver decided not to stop," said Liberty Township Police Captain Ray Buhala.

Police dash camera video shows the truck taking off North on State Route 11. Police say the chase reached speeds up to 80 miles per hour. It eventually ended when the driver ran across State Route 82 near Mahoning Avenue after going over stop sticks.

"While we were there pursuing the U-Haul truck, one of our officers believed that there was also another car following the U-Haul. He gave that description of the vehicle after the driver bailed," Buhala said.

Champion Police spotted the other SUV driving into nearby Ohio Star Forge.

"Our officers attempted to stop him. He fled again," said police Chief Larry Skaggs. "Stop sticks were deployed on him -- the pursuit continued just a short distance where he eventually gave up."

Police say both the driver of the SUV, Tramaine Davis, and a soaking wet backseat passenger, Larry Camp-Hatley, were arrested. Officers say Camp-Hatley was driving the stolen U-Haul.

Police say both men had active warrants and are now facing felony charges out of Trumbull County.

"We have a box truck and another car following it. There's no doubt in my mind that there was other criminal activity afoot," Buhaha said.

"It's suspected that the vehicle may have been used to transport stolen motorcycles or ATVs," Skaggs said.
